Thank you for stopping by Bella Lina Bath! I started making soap in 2008 when my daughter started showing signs of eczema. I have been battling eczema all of my life, so I knew the first thing the doctor would do was prescribe her with an ointment that was full of chemicals and steroids. Using those ointments and dealing with the side effects were okay with me but it was an unacceptable solution for my daughter. Her pediatrician suggested natural soap as an alternative. After buying a few bars online, I found that the scents were dated and not up to par with what I wanted my baby girl to smell like.
So I decided to try making it myself. I knew from the minute I made my first batch of soap that I had found my calling. It was like something inside of me lit on fire. In less than 6 months, I was giving samples of soap away to friends and family to try out. People started making special requests and paying me for them, even though I didn't ask for payment. I spent every night, and still spend most nights researching online and stuck in books on medicinal uses of organic and natural products.
In March of 2012, I took a month off of work to become a vendor in Central Florida. I wanted to see if total strangers would love my soap as much as I do. It was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever encountered! I instantly had a following of customers. So much so, that within two weeks I was selling more than 150 bars a week! Some of my customers were driving 45 minutes out of their way because they missed a market closer to them and didn't want to wait another week to purchase bars.
The name Bella Lina comes from my two daughters; Izabella, 12 and Angelina, 9 (I also have two son's). When they're together, Izabella would always say "Mommy just call Bella Lina, and we'll come running okay." When I decided to turn my passion into an business I couldn't think of a better name than my two favorite girls in the world.
